Soddy Daisy Figure 8 Ride
I don’t remember who 1st called the east side of Hwy 27 between Sequoyah Access Rd and Dayton, TN “the Dark Side” but most of today’s ride happens there. This area got it’s name because it’s much hillier than the west side of Hwy 27. This is not implying the west side of Hwy 27 should in any way be considered flat, just less hillier than the east side.
Today’s ride is a figure 8.
The 1st loop is about 20 miles, out the east side along Old Dayton Pike & Stormer Rd to Sale Creek, returning on the west side along Back Valley Rd.
The 2nd loop is all on the east side of Hwy 27 and features 2 stints on Green Pond Rd and finishes with a downhill. It’s about 11 miles.
Please ignore the 12% grade on the METRICS tab of the above link, that’s a phantom hill, doesn’t exist.
